A Monster Called Horex (30)

A Monster Called Horex

1

When I first bumped into Horex I was quite surprised to see
That he was in fact a monster; not the usual kind for me
I could recognise his accent from a teacher I once had
But his shining suit of armour was unusual just a tad

Still he had a lovely smile, why not give the guy a chance
To dump his suit of armour and to see if he could dance
At first he was reluctant since he loved his monster suit
But eventually he weakened, and his armour got the boot

Horex is a German who adored his armour plate
Like he was a gothic knight with an appetite for hate
But now he’s dancing with me, it’s a breeze to be kind
After having left his armour and the battle scene behind

In the chess game we were playing; I made a brave move
I soon had Horex dancing where he got into the groove
Naturally I did not tell him how I found him to be cute
Or that I had sent his armour to a house of ill-repute

With his armour suit behind him Horex made progress fast
Even though his reputation had already been typecast
Some people asked why bother as I am a pretty girl?
But I did so like to polish my new monster of a pearl

Horex is a German who adored his armour plate
Like he was a gothic knight with an appetite for hate
But now he’s dancing with me, it’s a breeze to be kind
After having left his armour and the battle scene behind

The world is full of monsters that most people wouldn’t see
Since instead of using armour they dress like you and me
They trick you with their smiles like a lottery envelope
With its one remaining virtue just a pocketful of hope

I am not a monster saver; I would never make this claim
But I knew Horex was better than his former monster name
He just needed dancing lessons with a damsel such as me
To discover how much better real gentleness would be

Horex is a German who adored his armour plate
Like he was a gothic knight with an appetite for hate
But now he’s dancing with me, it’s a breeze to be kind
After having left his armour and the battle scene behind

The End
