Competition for Emily (Revised) (4)

Competition for Emily (Revised)

1
Miss Jane Austen is amazing
With Christian virtues in mind
Revealing through her stories
Good values to be enshrined
When I set out to seduce her
I was walking with bare feet
Towards the river of desire
And the canyon of conceit

Miss Jane Austen is a lady worthy of a special man
And not a slothful dreamer with the mind of Peter Pan
In an age when most good ladies find it difficult to resist
A trade between their virtue and champagne’s delightful mist

2

Miss Jane Austen is a pearl
That deserves the very best
A knight in gleaming armour
Is the least I could suggest?
But a man of my credentials
Though no architect of crime
Deserves a kind dish washer
That’s nostalgic for her prime

Miss Jane Austen is a lady worthy of a special man
And not a slothful dreamer with the mind of Peter Pan
In an age when most good ladies find it difficult to resist
A trade between their virtue and champagne’s delightful mist

3

Miss Jane Austen is a treasure
For an exceptional man to find
From the beauty of her body
To the wisdom in her mind
With her genius for fiction
And devotion to family
Jane is far too lovely
For an idiot like me

Miss Jane Austen is a lady worthy of a special man
And not a slothful dreamer with the mind of Peter Pan
In an age when most good ladies find it difficult to resist
A trade between their virtue and champagne’s delightful mist

Miss Jane Austin is amazing; I just love her ever so much
From the dew of her persuasion to the whisper of her touch
From the sparkle in her wisdom to the arrows of her phrases
To the virtues in her stories that create passages that amazes

The End
