The Forests and the Dragons of Vietnam (12)

The Forests and the Dragons of Vietnam

Such wickedness to create
Poisons designed to devastate
The forests and the dragons of Vietnam
It’s too painful still to speak about napalm
And the children barbecued by Uncle Sam

Since their forests were depleted in a war against their land
The dragons have been dying I’ve been led to understand
Thanks to Agent Orange, such a gentle sounding name
For the deadliest of poisons to be used in a war game

The children that survived could not help but feel despair
Just to see how God’s creation was now dying everywhere
How on earth could Agent Orange strip a virgin forest bare?
And destroy so many dragons and the babies in their care?

Such wickedness to create
Poisons designed to devastate
The forests and the dragons of Vietnam
It’s too painful still to speak about napalm
And the children barbecued by Uncle Sam

I am sick of Agent Orange and the thinking behind this
To pour out such deadly poison on the people like a mist
In the knowledge that their poison would kill off everything
Which in turn suggests this nation has the devil as its king?

Without peace and understanding, it’s too easy to create
The most hateful kind of weapons that are used to devastate
The forests of creation and the villages in their midst
It’s a deadly game for sure
When the West conducts a war
It’s preoccupied with its latest list
Of places to visit in a bombing blitz

Such wickedness to create
Poisons designed to devastate
The forests and the dragons of Vietnam
It’s too painful still to speak about napalm
And the children barbecued by Uncle Sam

The End
