A Failed System (64)

A Failed System (64)
1
Every time a dairy farmer blows his nose
That’s another poisoned river I suppose
Not to mention the nitrates heading for
The pond rapidly dying just next door
Follow me” cries the emperor of greed
Competition is the supreme virtue I plead

Autocracy and Plutocracy
Unite in a liberal democracy
Where pollution and collusion are abound
While the poor are left hanging around
Or else mating at a camping ground
Hating to miss out on what is free

2
Politicians need a great deal of support
To avoid becoming beaten and distraught
Advertising is something they all embrace
Since election time is like a marathon race
It takes money to promote yourself and win
Now that truth has been surpassed by a grin

Autocracy and Plutocracy
Unite in a liberal democracy
Where pollution and collusion are abound
While the poor are left hanging around
Or else mating at a camping ground
Hating to miss out on what is free

3
Well the two end up together soon enough
With the winners winning out by being tough
So the farmers and vote catchers win the race
While Nature and the poor are put in their place
Since the dollar sits on some tremendous throne
With its mindset clearly borrowed from Al Capone

Autocracy and Plutocracy
Unite in a liberal democracy
Where pollution and collusion are abound
While the poor are left hanging around
Or else mating at a camping ground
Hating to miss out on what is free

4
Is it not a great pity and also a bitch
To see the devastation done by the rich
To be ruled by the wealthy comes at a cost
With ethics and values and virtues soon lost
Since power clings onto money unto the grave
While condemning Colonel Gaddafi and the brave

Autocracy and Plutocracy
Unite in a liberal democracy
Where pollution and collusion are abound
While the poor are left hanging around
Or else mating at a camping ground
Hating to miss out on what is free

The End
